ahhhhh... that was nice. I've gone up to the Kern a couple of times this year. Looking to get one last trip in before cool weather arrives. There's nothing like a campfire under the stars and the sound of the river as you fall asleep.
Buffalo: It’s been my experience that someone that has gone to war or that has fight fires doesn’t think camping is a good thing. So, I do understand where you come from. ;)

ahhh yes...the different smells...the coffee, the food, the trees. The sounds of the birds and other animals. The sound of water and the feel of the mist it puts off....ahhh yes.

I haven't been camping for years. Thanks for sharing. I can almost smell the campfire smoke.
